What a difference a year can make! Take a peek at Amelia just one year ago here. I never grow tired of seeing that newborn to one year transition. It was such a treat to be able to catch up with Amelia and her parents. :)

Maybe I'm biased, but I think surprise photographs are possibly the best gift (to give and to receive). I've been holding off sharing these images until the surprise was revealed. The grandma of this group of cousins got a special surprise on her birthday. Such a great, thoughtful idea. Plus, bonus for me that I got to hang out with this awesome family. :)

A few weeks ago, on a very humid early morning, I got to meet a new family. A happy family. A connected family. A sweet family. A family who I feel fortunate to have spent a very humid early morning with just a few weeks ago. :)

I'm so blessed. Really blessed. I get to spend time with awesome little kids like (twins) Henry & Hannah. I get to know amazing families. And I get to witness and be a part of moments like these. These images fill my heart. Oh how I love spending time with this family. Now you get to spend a little time with them too. :)

The fact that we can be overcome with joy and so much happiness at any given moment (if we allow ourselves) was so perfectly illustrated by Jack. This is not his first time at this beach, nor his last, but wouldn't it have to be one of those options for us to be quite this excited -- or we might be excited, but would we so freely express it from the tip of our nose to the tips of our toes. I think about the joy that comes from that kind of expression.

Before we headed for the beach, Jack and I were standing in his front yard where they have a little fountain. Jack told me he was making a wish and threw a rock into the fountain. I asked him what he had wished for. He said "to be a grown-up, like you". And I thought, I sometimes wish I could be a kid, like you. And then we went to the beach and I thought, yes, definitely a kid like you. :)

I love these pictures! They make me want to book the next flight to a beach somewhere. My favorite is the last one, where he s running toward the water. Awesome!
